Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Russian Resistance (“we”, “us”) runs russian-resistance.org to share news about the Russian anti-war and opposition movement and to point readers to organisations they can support. We know much of our audience has good reason to care about privacy, so we collect as little as possible and never track you without your explicit consent. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • No tracking before consent.Analytics is only loaded if you press “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline or ignore it, no analytics cookies or scripts run.
  • No third-party fonts or embeds calling home. Our fonts are served from our own servers — your browser does not contact Google Fonts or similar services just to view a page.
  • We don’t sell your data, and we don’t run advertising trackers.
  • We only receive personal data you choose to send us (for example, by using the contact form).

What we collect and why

1. Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, we receive the email address and messageyou enter. We use this solely to read and reply to your enquiry. These messages are delivered to our inbox by our email provider and are not stored in the website’s public database. We keep them only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.

Legal basis (where the GDPR applies): your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to messages you send us.

2. Analytics (only with your consent)

If — and only if — you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which articles are read). This may set cookies and process technical data such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and the pages you visit. You can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Legal basis: your consent. If you never consent, this data is never collected.

3. Technical logs

Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic request information (including IP addresses) for short periods to operate the site securely and reliably. This is standard infrastructure logging, not used to profile you, and is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.

Cookies and local storage

  • Strictly necessary:a small entry in your browser’s local storage remembers your cookie choice so we don’t ask again on every visit. It contains no personal data and does not track you.
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics cookies, set only after you accept. Declining keeps these off entirely.

Who processes data on our behalf

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
  • Supabase— database for the site’s published content.
  • Resend — delivery of contact-form emails to us.
  • Google Analytics — usage statistics, only if you consent.

Some of these providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, or for any privacy question, contact us at mpartisans@gmail.com.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
