We Exist! A Message From Russian Musicians Who Left Russia
On December 12th, YouTube hosted the premiere of the concert film "We Exist!" The film features Russian musicians who left Russia as a sign of protest against the war with Ukraine. This group includes prominent artists like Bi-2, Nogu Svelo!, Tequilajazzz, Noize MC, and many others. They perform their hits and new songs live from various cities around the world where they currently reside. Roma Liberov, the director and producer of the film, introduces it with the following words:
"Today, when one tragedy overshadows another, everything seems out of place. Love, friendship, beauty, mercy, politeness, and mutual aid appear to be nonexistent. Our concert film is a testament to life, an attempt to reach out across borders and personalconcerns, and say to each other: 'We do exist!' We are divided, alone, scared, and confused. We care for our children and parents, wrapped up in personal matters, confined to a close circle of friends, longing for safety and a peaceful future. Our concert film strives to be an exemplar of unity, a call to transcending tastes, preferences, ages, and statuses to feel that we exist.
Thank you to the musicians and their teams for extending their hands to each other and all of us, thank you to the producers, cameramen, sound engineers, technicians, and lighting staff! And thank you to our cohesive group! Several hundred people worked hard to make the release of 'We Exist!' a reality. Isn’t this the best proof that we do indeed exist?"
