Teacher in Komi Republic charged with 'justifying terrorism' for online post about Crimean Bridge
A history and social study teacher from the Komi Republic, Nikita Tushkanov, was arrested on charges of “justifying terrorism” according to the OVD-Info. His girlfriend, Alexandra Kochanova,reported that authorities raided their apartment and confiscated all their communication devices before taking Tushkanov to the local Federal Securityoffice, where the couple was interrogated.
Kochanova declares that a case against Tushkanov was opened in response to a photo of the Crimean Bridge with “acaption containing a positive reaction to what happened” that Tsukhanov posted earlier this year. According to the local outlet Zhest Komi, Kochanova also has been charged with repeatedly “discrediting” the Russian army and justifying terrorism.
OVD-Info noted that in March, Tushkanov washit with charges for anti-war content posted on social media. In 2021 he wasfired from a school because of his posts in support of political prisoners.
