For the first time, an underage schoolgirl was sentenced for an anti-war statement
The 17-year-old schoolgirl Lyubov Lizunova from Chita was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Her case is based on publications in which law enforcement officers saw justification for arson attacks on military enlistment offices and sabotage. This is the first case where a minor has been sentenced to prison for an anti-war statement, according to data from "OVD-Info" studied by the agency.
The reason for the persecution was graffiti saying "Death to the regime" and messages in two Telegram channels (with fewer than 200 readers in total) justifying arson attacks on military enlistment offices and sabotage. During the investigation, the vandalism charge (for graffiti) was dropped due to the statute of limitations expiring, according to "Network Freedoms."
In addition to Lizunova, the case also involved 19-year-old Alexander Snezhkov (sentenced to six years in prison) and Vladislav Vishnevsky (sentenced to one and a half years of compulsory labor). A total of four underage schoolgirls have been persecuted for anti-war actions in Russia since the beginning of the war, but sentences were passed on only two. The second, Adelia Khasanova, received a suspended sentence for attempting to set fire to a military enlistment office, but at the time of the verdict, she was already of legal age.
