An investigation has sent a case of "incitement to terrorism" to court against a 60-year-old resident of the Kemerovo region for his posts on "VKontakte."

The 1st Eastern District Military Court has received a case of online "incitement to terrorism" against Leonard Valeev, a resident of the Kemerovo region. He is accused of posting content against the government on "VKontakte," a Russian social media platform. Valeev could face up to 7 years of imprisonment. According to the investigation, the man wrote several posts urging mobilized citizens to use the weapons they had been issued "to overthrow the government." The case against him was initiated after the security forces at the "Center E" reviewed his publications.
