A 15-year-old was detained in connection with graffiti in support of Alexei Navalny
On October 23, law enforcement searched his home, seizing material evidence and confiscating the teenager's phone. Officers also threatened Sevastyan Sultanov, saying his mother could lose her job.
The specific article under which the case was opened is unknown. According to the court-appointed lawyer, he is being charged under a "serious article."
Investigators allege that Sultanov created graffiti on Voznesensky Tract. On October 21, the Telegram channel of Navalny's Team published photos of graffiti with the phrases "Navalny!" and "Putin — war and poverty!" on crossings along the same route in Kazan, reporting that it was the work of volunteers from underground headquarters.
On October 25, Sevastyan Sultanov was charged with vandalism motivated by political hatred, 7x7 reports.
Dmitry Rumyantsev, head of the Civic Initiative party's Tatarstan branch, stated that the teenager was questioned about the case in the presence of his mother and teacher. Sultanov is currently free.
